Social-economic problems of agricultural enterprises and solution proposals: The case of Bayburt province

Another basic element of the production function, which has elements such as labour, capital and nature, is the entrepreneur. In the development of countries and societies, the spirit of entrepreneurship has had an important place in every period and in every field. Based on Heraclitus's saying that "The only thing that does not change is change itself." it is understood that entrepreneurship is one of the basic elements of change and innovation. The most important character of it is to have a revolutionary dimension. Although the increasing importance of entrepreneurship among sectors, agriculture is an economic sector, change and transformation are needed mostly in the agricultural sector, it is seen that agricultural enterprise and entrepreneurship are hardly focused on. However, agricultural enterprises are enterprises that have an important role in the social, economic and cultural development of countries. In this context, the aim of the study is to offer solutions to these problems by addressing the social and economic problems of agricultural enterprises operating in the province of Bayburt. The study was conducted with 27 participants. As a result of the research, among the socio-economic problems of agricultural enterprises, the price imbalance in input costs used in agriculture and the insufficient support provided by the state stand out. In addition, it has been understood that such investments are not given importance in the field of agriculture by questioning the perspective of the enterprises on marketing activities and R&D studies. It has been concluded that enterprises should turn to conscious production by using scientific methods and give importance to R&D investments by taking marketing mix elements into consideration. The research is thought to be useful in analysing the relationship between the concept of entrepreneurship and agriculture and seeing the problems agricultural entrepreneurs face in their entrepreneurship breakthrough. It is expected that the obstacles will be identified by addressing the existing problems and the suggestions developed according to the results will shed light on the agricultural enterprises operating in the sector.
