Abstract (EN)

Breakwaters are coastal structures constructed for many different purposes such as shore protection, harbor, fisheries etc. Breakwaters can be constructed in many different ways but the most common type is rubble mound breakwaters. In this study, 7 different water depths (ds = 3 m, 5 m, 7 m, 9 m, 11 m, 13 m and 15 m), 3 different structure slopes (tg α = 1/3, 1/2 and 2/3), 4 different deep water wave heights (H0 = 3,5 m, 5 m, 6,5 m and 8 m) and a wave period (T) of 10 seconds are used to design and calculate construction costs of rubble mound breakwater and breakwater covered by antifer block. The restrictive criteria which is using natural stone or artificial stone for armour layer is taken into consideration during cost calculation process. The unit prices given by the General Management for Infrastructure Development in 2017 are used in cost calculations. The type of armour is determined according to construction cost considering the criteria mentioned above.
