Analysis and design of stone columns

This study provides information on the theoretical approaches developed for the analysis of stone columns. In the first step, analytical methods and then numerical method have been investigated. Accuracy of the theoretical analysis has been investigated by comparing by numerical analysis. Then the numerical method has been used for preliminary design of the groups stone column for operating the project. In this parametric analysis for determining parameter of the stone column, investigate of the load capacity and settlement behavior in reinforced soil with stone columns have been investigated. Using this result has been achieved the appropriate diameter and placement, Also reinforced soil with stone column have been modeled with a finite element 2-D program by 2 developed methods have been changed from axisymmetric to plain-strain. For investigation of the accuracy of 2-D finite element, the result of the 3-D finite element has been compared with 2-D finite element. Lastly, the result of the 2-D embankment analysis and 3-D embankment analysis have been compared with result of fıeld data.
