Personality refers to the whole of the characteristics that occur within the framework of the characteristics of the human with congenital fıtrat and genomic and shaping these properties through family, environment and education and separating the human from other people. In humans, there has always been an endeavor to take the features that it possesses further. The science that has come to the forefront with the development of personality by educating self in Islamic culture is sufism. In the light of the Qur'an Sufism revealed that the soul can nourish itself by taking seven-tier approach. The person that will be formed by elevating the self, rising in the specified levels of exaltedness, means a solid personality. In forming this personality sufism got inspiration from the prophet's. In addition Sufism developed new methods in comparison with the Qur'an and the Sunna. With these methods, while providing manners and personality development is also provided first after transformation and change. Although there are common expressions between today's personal development teachings and Sufism, there are many fundamental differences. Because sufism provides moral personality development, modern personal development methods focus on success happiness and affluence. These goals, which are offered by personal development, as well as the secular area, are the secular elements of the language and methods used for these goals. The idea of human development of people as a matter of materialization, positivism, humanism and sanctification of human mind has gained momentum. However, since all of these ideologies are based on a secular understanding, it is aimed to develop only the external appearance of people. This study is based on this basic difference. In other words, in this study; it is considered that the personal development teachings of today's Western origin consist of embellishing the traits by inflating the ego, through the transformation and change of personality by the refinement of mysticism and then by the application of methods of development through the subservient exquisite.
