The approachbof the four calips in mysticism and the work of Seyh Abdulhay Celvetî named Menâkib-i Çehâr-i Guzîn (Reviewe-text)

The four distinguished caliphs are after the Prophet(pbuh) the cornerstones of the Sufism departmen, as well as the Hadith, Tafsir, Fiqh an Kalam branches. They are important among the Companions because they witnessed the Prophet's lifestyle and established a close relationship with the Prophet. In our study, The Ottoman manuscript titled Menâkıb-ı Cihâr-ı Güzîn, by Abdülhay Celvetî, who lived in the 12th century, written on the four caliphs and not found in the sources, is one of the rare Works equipped with hagiography on this subject. In our thesis, which consists of an introduction and two chapters, we briefly gave information about Abdülhay Celvetî's life and Works, then discussed his understanding of the four caliphs in Sufism, and then translated Abdülhay Celvetî's Work called Menâkıb-ı Cihâr-ı Güzîn. In the analysis part of the work, we aimed to include concepts related to the thought of Sufism, based on the hagiography mentioned in the work. Our manuscript named Menâkıb-ı Cihâr Güzîn, which includes the narrations of the four caliphs, is the work of Abdülhay Celvetî that is not mentioned in the sources. Our study on this work is what distinguishes our work from the studies on the four calips in Sufi thought. Another factor that adds importanse to this study is that the narrations in this manuscript support the narrations in other sources.
