Providing the financing needed by commercial life is important for the execution of commercial activities. However, the institutions and individuals providing this financing take on a very large risk as a result of these activities. In order to reduce this risk, they demand assurance and pledge is one of these assurances. Right of pledge, Turkish Civil Code No. 4721 Article 939 et al. Although it is regulated, some types of movable pledge other than delivery pledge are also regulated in different laws. Among these, the Act on Pledge of Movables in Commercial Transactions numbered 6750, which entered into force on 01.01.2017, has encountered an intense demand in practice. This law, which contains many innovations compared to the pledge of movables subject to delivery, brings many uncertainties as it has found a very new application area yet. In addition to addressing the general principles of the right of pledge and movable pledge in general, our study also deals with the place of the Act on Pledge of Movables in Commercial Transactions No. 6750 in commercial life and the problems that may arise during the implementation of the Law.
