Abstract (EN)

In this paper, It is investigated a numerical analysis of thermal performance of a vehicle brake systems. For a brake disc of a vehicle which is used different rotational speed in the during braking that is examined a thermal analysis to state steady, and compared heat transfer characteristics. Brake disc models and materials properties used in this study, they are chosen in the literature conveniently. Brake discs and brake pad models are selected that taking account of available design on the automobile. Radial vent and perforated vent used on brake disc are chosen up to standard. In all analysis, the discs are examined temperature distribution and heat transfer for brake discs models by not making changes on materials and brake pad model. The numerical results are compared with the temperature distributions in the current literature. The results are that the perforated and air channel brake disc has lower temperature distribution than the solid disc when the disc contact to brake pad at the firsttime, and also high heat transfer coefficient is calculated. The results is shown that heat transfer is raised between disc and environment depending on air flow characteristics because of vent and perforated, therefore, brake disc could be cooled quickly.
