Abstract (EN)

Biodiesel is a source of energy that can be used today as an alternative to diesel fuels. This alternative fuel is produced from vegetable, animal raw and waste oils. The reason biodiesel has become so important today is that with the gradual decline of fossil fuels and the increasing importance of environmentalism, efforts to reduce harmful emissions from motor vehicles have come to the fore. Therefore, today's scientific studies in the field of biodiesel have gained momentum. In this study, one of the waste animal fats, chicken processing oil, was used. Due to the high free fatty acid (SYA) value of this oil, two-stage transesterification method was preferred for biodiesel uptake. Since the high value of sya would cause soap in the reaction, an acidic catalyst was used in the first phase and a basic catalyst in the second phase. The analysis showed that chicken processing oil biodiesel (CRFB) meets biodiesel fuel standards. (J) 10% as reference diesel fuel, B. 10 mixed values 20% to 50% by volume CRFB is used with petroleum-based fuel, B20, B50 fuel mixtures, single cylinder diesel engine hard to rev over 2000 rpm were obtained, combustion, performance and emission characteristics, of course, under partial load engine tests 5 nm and 10 nm were examined. As a result of the experiments conducted; The fact that the cetane number of CRFB is lower than that of petroleum-based diesel fuel increases the ignition delay time, and as a result, the maximum cylinder pressure and heat release increases as the amount of biodiesel in mixtures increases.Specific fuel consumption is higher in all biodiesel-diesel fuel mixtures compared to reference diesel fuel. It has been observed that biodiesel mixtures have lower thermal efficiency compared to petroleum-based diesel fuel and that the thermal efficiency of biodiesel-diesel mixtures increases as the load applied to the engine increases. When smoke emissions were examined, it was determined that there was a decrease in smoke emissions as biodiesel rates increased in mixtures and it was observed that soot emission values at 10 Nm portion load were significantly higher than 5nm partial load.
