Abstract (EN)

From past to present, women's participation in political sphere and representation of woman have been the subject of discussion. Women were kept away from political areas in many ways.Women had to fight for long years to achieve their political rights. This struggle involves a multi-dimensional process from democracy to women's movements.Today, the political presence and inadequate representations of women is still being discussed. In this process, although the political gains of women increased, the masculine structure of politics has not changed. Therefore, in order to understand the reasons why women have stay away from politics, it is necessary to understand the position of women in society in the first place. Especially in parliaments, which are the cornerstones of democracy, the participation of women is very low. This, therefore, causes women's issues and issues associated with women to be less discussed. In some cases, even if women's political participation rates increase, this does not have an impact on women and women's issues. In this context, as well as quantitative representation of woman, as political actors, qualitative representation of them also points out an important detail. In this study, the political representation of women and women-democracy relationship were examined firstly. In this context, the content analysis of the law proposals –which are related to women, the fields associated with woman, and social issues– given by the especially female parliamentarians as a political participation tool between the 21st and the 26th parliamentary terms, was carried out thereafter. In this study, which is important for understanding the qualitative and quantitative expressions of representation of women, the reflection of the numeral increase of the female parliamentarians between the related terms of the parliament was studied through the given law proposals on related topics. Accordingly, it is aimed to make it clear whether women, the subject of many studies, have produced policies that will make a difference compared to their counterparts.
