Abstract (EN)
Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) is a sulphonamide derivative antibiotic found in the United States in 1961. SMX is widely used in the treatment of bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, bronchitis and prostatitis. In 21st Century, multiresistant organisms have emerged over the years with intensive use of antibiotics and major problem have begun to emerge in the treatment of infections caused by them. Today, while new drugs are being developed all over the world, on the other side formed infections with resistant microorganisms are reported and the extent of the problem is increasing. In addition, it may be difficult to occur for other infective agents related to infections like intra-abdominal abscess, heart iner membran inflammation, osteomyelitis and this event may result in delayed diagnosis, treatment and sometimes death. In Nuclear Medicine, the presentation of radiopharmaceuticals has extended the imaging of infection. Therefore, during the last few years, radiopharmaceuticals such as labeled anti-infectives aim to be specific in infection and it has become a very important issue for nuclear medicine speacialistsas well as the clinical microbiologists and infectious disease specialists. In our study, studies to investigate of labeling by using nuclear techniques and infection imaging potential of sulfamethoxazole will be realized. In the planned experimental stage, sulfamethoxazole, which is effective in Staphylococus aureus bacteria, was labeled with Tc-99m by using reduction method with tin chloride. Then, the quality control studies of labeled antibiotics were done by thin layer radyochromatography (TLC). After the quality control studies, the lipophility and the stability studies were carried out, respectively. In the finally stage, availability as enfection imaging agents of Tc 99m-labeled sulfamethoxazole had determined with the biodistribution and scintigraphic studies in infection created on rats.
