Sustainability practices in supply chain management and Malatya city example

Supply chain management is defined as the management of the processes from the supply of raw materials to the delivery of the final product to the consumer. In today's world where rapidly rising globalization and intense competition are experienced, businesses have to be able to realize a flexible production in accordance with customer demands in changing competition conditions by applying the supply chain management approach and manage the chain from suppliers to the end customer. Businesses have to ensure the continuity of both their own existence and the ecosystems they are a part of while carrying out these activities. Sustainable supply chain management, of these processes; refers to be addressed together with economic, environmental and social sustainability criteria. In this thesis study, in which the three dimensions of sustainability, economic, environmental and social sustainability, are handled comprehensively within the scope of supply chain management; Enterprises operating in the organized industries of Malatya province are the focus of the research. With this study, it is aimed to contribute to the literature by addressing the concept of "sustainability", which has gained importance in recent years, in the context of supply chain management. With the application part of the research, it is aimed to determine the obstacles and perceptions of the enterprises within the scope of the study on sustainable supply chain management, and to determine whether there is a difference in the distribution of the obstacle and perception levels according to some basic characteristics of the enterprises. In addition, with this study, the sustainable supply chain management perception and obstacle levels of enterprises, enterprises'; its relationship with economic, environmental and social sustainability performances has been examined. Finally, the relationship between economic, environmental and social sustainability performances has been examined which the research subject enterprises In this way, it is aimed to use the obtained data for evaluation and solution suggestions and to contribute to the creation of an inventory that can reveal the sustainability approaches of enterprises operating in the organized industrial zones of Malatya province.
