Performance measurement in the supply chain

The aim of the study is to research supply chain management performance measures, based on questionairre form collected data is analysed and performance measures' relationship and their contribution to network performance is researched and discussed in order to enligth the logistics sector. Data collection is performed in Konya Organized Industrial Zone, a list of companies dealing wtih international trade is obtained from Foreign Trade Directorate of Konya Trade Chamber, a total of 350 companies were listed where 109 companies participated in the study. Reliability analysis and validity analysis, correlations between variables and regression analysis is conducted. Findings suggest realationships supported by the supply chain management literature. According to findings, performance measures within the supply chain management are found to be relevant. The study discusses the long run effects of performance measures on overall performance os supply chain management. The study is composed of three parts; first chapter reviews supply chain management concept, its definition and evolution, the mentality of managing a supply chain, the preocess of supply chain, relationships between partners within the supply chain network and related subjects. Second chapter reviews the performance measurement systems developed for performance measurement in supply chain management, each performance measurement systems development and evolution, their advantages and disadvantages and criterieas used in each performance measurement system is discussed. Third and the last chapter presents field study conducted, data collection tool, reliability and validity tests and relationship tests. Findings suggest a statistically significant realationship among hypothesized performance measures. Conclusion and discussion of the study and its academic and practical contribution is presented at last.
