Abstract (EN)

The international system appears to us in a complex structure that includes economy, politics, science, technology and military factors together in constant action. As it was the case in the past, the developments in the world have influenced the international system in various ways and today have given rise to a change in this system. In this thesis, a System Analysis Approach is used, and the issue of unipolar system that appeared with the end of the Cold War, and the shocks it experienced with the September 11th attacks are investigated. Also, the transformation of the international system towards a multi-polar system with the developments experienced so far is studied. The leader of the unipolar system that appeared after the Cold War was the USA. However, with the American policies on Afghanistan and Iraq, the former reliability of the USA has decreased. With the emergence of the rising economies like BRICS in time, it has been observed that the international system has started to change. As a result, a background has been formed in this study by examining the system definition, by defining the international system and its varieties. Then the unipolar, bipolar and multi-polar systems, which have historical counterparts, have been analyzed theoretically with the historical data. In the light of the obtained data, it is concluded that the unipolar system that appeared after the Cold War whose fiery leader was the USA, the effects of which are still felt today, has begun to be transformed into a multi-polar system. Key Words: Unipolar, Bipolar and Multi-Polar Systems, Cold War, System, BRICS, Color Revolutions
