Use of single architectural structures as images on pictorial surfaces

These cultural houses are rich in material and form. The mudbrick structures, which are rich in surface and appearance and are made from different materials, have been associated with different areas and have affected many artists. The aim of this study is to examine single architectural structures from a pictorial perspective and to transform them into pictorial expression by means of visualization. During the research process; data were obtained from journals, articles, thesis, books and collections and literature reviews were made. Within the scope of the thesis, Western and Turkish artists using single architectural structures in their paintings are examined. In their paintings, it was seen that the artists created single architectural structures as an element in the landscape or in the center of the work. The only architectural structures that have been the subject of artists since the past in the art of painting, their lives, views and thoughts have come out of the filter and found themselves as images on the pictorial surfaces. This thesis consists of four chapters. In the first part, the aim, importance and problem status of the thesis are mentioned, in the second part, the researches related to the conceptual framework are made, in the third part the method of the research is explained and in the fourth part the development process, applications and analysis of the applications within the thesis are given. In the last section of the research, the results of literature research and applications are mentioned. With the scans, sketches of the old and abandoned buildings in and around Malatya Kadı İbrahim Village were made and the work was transformed into applications on canvas. The house sketches were first passed through a certain filter of thought and then turned into actual works. Application works consist of sketches and ten canvas paintings. In general, moving brush strokes used in the sky caused the audiance to question their realistic thoughts. The subject of the researcher's practice is the abandonment of adobe structures the destruction of traditional structures and the fact that this is experienced bythe researcher. If we consider the practices in terms of style, this situation to the viewer in a plastic and emotional way with a strong image on the canvas surface.
