Abstract (EN)

Aim: In this study, dental and skeletal measurements of the maxilla and mandible of individuals with UCLP and the control group were compared. Material and Method: In this study, the width, height and length of the maxilla, bigonial width of the mandible, condyle and ramus height were measured in the CBCT images of 22 individuals with UCLP and 22 individuals without the defect. Also dehiscence/fenestration, supernumerary teeth, dental agenesis etc. existence has been examined. Shapiro-Wilks test, Independent Sample t test and Mann-Whitney U test were used in the statistical analysis of the data. Results: In our study, the anterior maxillary width value and the distance of the central tooth to the midline were found to be higher on the defective side in individuals with TTDDY. It was observed that the maxillary length value was lower in individuals with TTDDY than in the control group. It was observed that the number of teeth affected by dehiscence, dental agenesis and the presence of peg-shaped lateral teeth were higher in individuals with TTDDY than in the control group. While septal deviation was observed in all individuals with TTDD, it was observed in 64% of the control group. Conclusion: CBCT evaluations showed that there were differences both between TTDDY individuals and the control group individuals and in the skeletal and dental structures on the defective and non-defective sides. These results should be taken into account in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. It is important to examine CBCT records in individuals with TTDDY.
