Epilithic and epipsammic diatoms of Teke Stream (Palu-Elazığ)

In this study, Teke Stream, which is located at the seventh kilometer of Palu- Beyhan road, 83 km away from Elazığ province, flows from Kevank Village and merges with the Murat River. The fact that it is not fed from a mountainous area affects the amount of water it carries and makes the stream dependent on spring waters and seasonal precipitation. Epipsammic and epilithic algae collected from two stations in Teke Creek between March 2023 and December 2023 were analyzed together with some physical and chemical parameters. During this study, 14 taxa of epipsammic algae were recorded at station I and 22 taxa at station II and 10 taxa of epilithic algae were recorded at station I and 17 taxa at station II. During the research period, Ulnaria, Amphora, Cymbella, Navicula, Nitzschia and Gomphonema belonging to Bacillariophyta were recorded as the most important algae in Teke Creek with their frequent occurrence and relative densities in epilithic and epipsammic algal flora.
