Clothing culture around Tekirdağ and its environment during the roman imperial period according to the findings in the Tekirdağ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum

The clothing culture has a significant role in the Roman history. The Romans, who have landed around Tekirdağ, can be easily distinguished due to their peculiar clothings. Material sources in the Tekirdağ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum clarifies the obscurities about the Roman Imperial Period clothing culture and native population upon there. As the general subject of this thesis is Clothing Culture Around Tekirdağ and Its Environment During the Roman Imperial Period According to the Findings in the Tekirdağ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum. The museum materials we examine are the most important sources that give us information about the relevant period and subject. Our thesis consists of two parts. In the first part, a general assessment was made within the context of the clues given in the ancient philological and modern sources regarding to the tradition of Roman and Thracian clothing. In the second part, the works in the Tekirdağ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum are tried to be evaluated within the information of the first part. Unlike Rome, which seems to be a politically dominant power, the reasons for the weight of the Greek influence in clothing were tried to be discussed with examples.
