CONVERTING PRINT OUT OF TECHNICAL DRAWING INTO DXF DATAFORMAT(M.Sc.Thesis)Sinan NCEGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTIn this thesis, a system which is converts technical drawing of bmp pictures intoDXF, format CAD data, has been developed. The developed system evaluatesbmp pictures saved 24 bit depth and colour or black-white to investigategeometric entities in the bmp pictures. These pictures are evaluated with eachpixel by using, horizontal and vertical scanning method. Then, informationcoordinates (x1, y1, x2, y2, â¦) and colours of each pixel are found out. Thesame colour and neighbour pixels are collected to make pixel chains. Thenumber of pixels in the chains is multiplied dimension of pixel to evaluatecoordinates and angles of entities in the picture which consist of many entities.This evaluated information are saved in the database. After that, this databaseinformation is converted into DXF file format.
