Investigation of technoference in the framework of family and child relationship: A qualitative research

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the concept of "technoference" within the framework of family and child relationships. The study group consists of 20 married women living in Istanbul, selected using the snowball sampling method, and having children in primary school. In the research, a demographic information form and 12 semi-structured open-ended questions were used as data collection tools. The interviews took place via telephone calls. The data obtained from the interviews were evaluated using the content analysis method. According to the findings of the research, participants use information technology devices for stress relief, entertainment, work tracking, and personal development purposes. Due to the frequent use of these devices by the participants, it was observed that communication between couples and between parents and children was disrupted. This situation led to family members becoming estranged from each other, a decrease in relationship satisfaction, and conflicts among couples.
