Abstract (EN)
This thesis examines the role of technological innovation capabilities in firms' sustainability strategies. Specifically, the research aims to determine how these capabilities affect sustainability and identify which capabilities have the greatest impact. A systematic approach using the Best-Worst Method iFs employed to assess the effects of innovation capabilities on business sustainability. The study begins with a detailed literature review of the concepts of innovation capabilities and business sustainability. It then identifies the main and sub-criteria affecting business sustainability. These criteria are evaluated through a survey conducted with participants working at the managerial and/or senior expert levels in automotive companies located in Bursa province, the study's population. The purposive sampling method was used to select the sample, and the questionnaire was administered to 10 participants. The factors related to the Best-Worst Method were compared and ranked according to their relative importance as perceived by the participants. Participants identified the most and least important criteria and compared them with others. Through these systematic comparisons, the impact of each innovation capability on business sustainability was determined. The results indicate that innovation capabilities play a critical role in enhancing business sustainability. In particular, capabilities such as learning, strategic planning, and RveD are found to be crucial for the long-term success and sustainability of businesses. This thesis underscores the importance of investing in innovation capabilities to gain a competitive advantage and ensure sustainability. Additionally, the assessment using the Best-Worst Method provides valuable insights that can guide businesses in their strategic decisions.
