Technostress and the effect of technostress on task efficiency

Technology, which is getting more and more important every day, carries job descriptions, the way of doing business and the expectations of the members of the institution to a different dimension. In this development process, enterprises, public institutions and organizations include applications and tools that are compatible with the latest technology in their business processes. Technology is often a necessary resource that increases efficiency and facilitates work. However, the use of technology can cause adverse effects on employees. This study focuses on the stress caused by technology, also known as technostress. The main body of the study consists of academic and administrative staff working at Fırat University. As a result of the survey, data suitable for analysis was collected. In the analysis of the collected data, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, regression analysis and mediator impact analysis were used in the SPSS program. In order to obtain the data in the research, Tarafdar et al. (2007) and Türen et al. Technostress Scale consisting of five dimensions prepared by (2015) was used. In the study, scales developed and validated by Torkzadeh and Doll (1999) were used for technological efficiency measurement. The technological efficiency scale developed by Torkzadeh and Doll was developed to measure how information technologies affect the task efficiency dimension. At the same time, Tarafdar et al. The task efficiency scales developed by (2007) were used. Technostress perceptions of academic and administrative staff were found to be moderate. On the other hand, no significant difference was found between the techno-stress perceptions of academic and administrative staff and their task efficiency and the variables of gender, marital status and length of service. It has been observed that technostress has an effect on task productivity. In the study, it has been observed that technostress has no effect on task efficiency by creators, and inhibitors have an effect on task efficiency. Looking at the moderator (organizer) effect; It has been observed that technostress inhibitors do not have a moderator (regulatory) effect on the task productivity of academic and administrative staff's technostress perceptions.
