Abstract (EN)

Increase in temperature affects the physical and chemical behaviours of textilefibers. In this study, by using simultaneous Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) -Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) apparatus the thermal behaviours, thermaland oxidative stabilities of textile fibers at atmospheric and inert conditions wereinvestigated.Thermal analysis refers to a variety of techniques in which physical property of asample is continuously measured as a function of temperature, whist the sample issubjected to a pre-determined temperature profile. Thermal Analysis techniquesare used in virtually every area of modern science and technology. The basic information that these techniques provide, such as crystallinity, specificheat and expansion, are relied on heavily for the research and development of newproducts. Thermal Analysis techniques also find increasing use in the area ofquality control and assurance, where demanding requirements must be met in anincreasingly competitive world and of course thermal analysis instruments areused in universities and in characterizing the textile fibers.2006, 119 pageKey Words: Thermo Gravimetric Analysis, Differential Thermal Analysis,Thermogram, Exothermal, Endothermalii
