Abstract (EN)
Removal of C.I. Acid blue 62 from aqueous solutions by adsorption on chitosan was investigated. Crosslinked chitosan beads were synthesized from chitosan flake using glurataraldehyde as a crosslinking agent and they were used as adsorbent. The adsorbent was characterized with SEM, FTIR, BET and TGA analysis. The influence of experimental conditions such as contact time, pH, temperature, and dye concentration on adsorption capacity was studied. Adsorption kinetics was explored. The adsorption kinetics of Acid Blue 62 was found to be compatible with second order kinetic model. Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherms were plotted at 30, 50, and 60 °C. The relevant parameters of these isotherms were calculated. It was seen that the adsorption of Acid Blue 62 obeyed solely Langmuir isotherm.
