Abstract (EN)
People need the skill set necessary to obtain a profession. The right skill set allegesparticular congruities between the skills the individual has and the skills required by theprofession. The skill incongruity occurs when the skills of individuals are more or lessthan the skills required by the profession. Professional Competency Board is theinstitution that implements the system and enables both employees and employers to come toterms with the right skills in the labor market in Turkey.In the study, the perceptions of textile industry workers within the context of worksafety in consideration of the National Professional Qualifications Framework have beenanalyzed. The workers' adaptation to work health and safety of employees in textileenterprises of different sizes, their awareness of the advantages provided by the ProfessionelQualification Certificate and their perspectives on the professional competence exam havebeen elaborated in the study. The study has been fulfilled in order to figure out theperspectives of the employees on the safety culture, the document given by PCB and theexam conducted for this document. In the study, 300 employees have been surveyed as muchas possible (due to the pandemic period) by random sampling method and the data have beenanalyzed with the SPSS23 statistical program.In the introduction part of the the study, statistical data related to the study, thepurpose and the method of the study have been explained. In the second part, the materialsand methods used in the study have been emphasised. In the third part, literature review hasbeen presented. In the fourth chapter, the situation of the textile sector in Turkey and theimportance of work health and safety in the textile sector have been revealed. Thehazardous and very hazardous professions in the textile sector have been classified, andthe professions that have a document requirement have been mentioned. In the fifthchapter, the criteria for referencing the Turkish Qualifications Framework to the AYÇ havebeen discussed, and the duties of the TÜRKAK institution have been stated. Especially theperformance-based professional competency exams conducted by PCB, which have beenfollowed on-site training have been mentioned as a sample observation. In the sixthsection, findings and comments have been set out. In the conclusion part, the analysis of thedata has been interpreted and suggestions that are in line with the results acquired havebeen submitted
