Occupation of workers working in a telecommunication company effect of risks on occupational safety (Trabzon province ecample)

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of occupational risks on work stress of telecommunication workers. The population of the descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of workers (n = 132 people) working in the Telecommunication company operating in Trabzon between October and November 2022. It was planned to apply to all workers without choosing any sampling method and all of them were reached. Data of the research; The survey, which consists of questions about the socio-demographic characteristics of the personnel, working environment factors, the risks they face in their practices, occupational safety and occupational health, and the Occupational Safety Scale questions, which were created by the researcher and the consultant by examining the literature, were administered under direct observation for approximately 20 minutes during the personnel's rest hours. Frequency, mean, standard deviation, t test, Analysis of Variance, Mann Whitney U test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis and correlation tests were used to analyze the data. The average Occupational Safety Scale score of the workers included in the research was found to be 118.07±14.88. Those who have an education level of high school or lower, those who work in the field environment, those who work more than 45 hours a week, those who use personal protective equipment (PPE), those who have not had a work accident, those who do not think of stress with their unit, those who see the future of their profession as hopeful, those who have a very good relationship with their colleagues, those who work in telecommunications security was found to be high. In this study, it was found that the telecommunication company in which the research was conducted ensured the job security of the workers included in the research. Motivational activities should be organized by company managers to increase the productivity of workers.
