Abstract (EN)
It is one of the basic language skills that ensures effective communication between people when done in accordance with the rules of conversation. For unhindered communication, it is essential to have a conversation free of errors. Speaking ability, which is primarily affected by factors such as family, immediate environment and school, is also affected by the content produced for television, a mass media tool. In this study, speech disorders in TV series, one of the most followed television contents, were examined. In this research, which is described as a basic qualitative research, three episodes from three different TV series were selected as the research object, and in the selected episodes, the use of local dialect, omission, use of slang and vulgar words, word repetition, unnecessary use of sounds and words, and elaborate pronunciation errors in all the speeches of the actors were detected. Data analysis was done by content analysis and descriptive analysis. The type and number of speech disorders detected, their proportion in total errors, and their number and ratio according to gender variable are given. As a result of the research, it was determined that speech disorders were present in all TV series examined. The most detected speech disorder was the use of local dialect (46.22%). This is followed by skipping (20.87%), use of slang and vulgar words (13.62%), repetition of words (7.30%), use of unnecessary sounds and words (6.91%), and elaborate pronunciation (5.08%). ) is followed. According to the gender variable, male players (67.69%) made more mistakes than female players (32.31%). Keywords: Communication, Speech Disorders, Speech, Television, TV Series
