Abstract (EN)

Television studios are important spaces where sound control and sound arrangements are necessary. If proper arrangements are not applied, uncontrolled reflections and high reverberation time value over than preferred may occur, which will adversely effect broadcasting.In this study, historical development of television studios with the architectural features, functions and operations have been discussed. After that, in television studios, building acoustic design parameters contents; building components such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors and windows, room acoustic design parameters contents; shape and dimensions of room, reverberation time, background noise level, sound reflector, absorber and scatter-diffusor distribution have been analyzed. All these parameters have been supported by national and international regulations and architectural acoustic performance criteria have been established for television studios.In this case study, according to examined parameters, current situation of Television Studio of General Directorate of Education Technologies (Eğitek) has been analyzed with Insul (v 6.4.12) and Odeon (v 10.02) simulation programs. A comparative assessment, with the environmental noise level, background noise level, sound transmission loss and reverberation time measurements have been made. As a result of this case study recommondations for improving adverse situations have been presented.Key Words : Acoustics, Building acoustics, Room acoustics, Television Studios, Broadcast studios
