Abstract (EN)

On the average, the human ear is able to hear sounds varying from 20- 20,000 Hz. The sounds that we use in music are within the limit or capacity that we perceive. If it was not for sound, music would not have been realized. Therefore hearing and having a detective ear for musical sounds can not be differentiated from each other. There is no nation which employs a frequency of 20.000 Hz in musi cal sound. In order for a sound to be created there must be a source, an ear and a brain which must decode and interpret codes. In order for the ear to be aroused it is necessary that frequencies created by certain sources of vibrati ons must be perceived. In this research an answer is be ing sought for the realisation of musical hearing by examining the physiology of the human hearing system andthe sense of hearing, The necessary knowledge has been obtained through a detailed research in order to inves tigate how the hearing mechanism is set up and how it works. In the audiologxcal research which took place at the îbni Sina Hospital of the University of Ankara, it has been found out that out of five people two of which have not been educated in music, all five do in fact have normal hearing abilities «, As a result of an experiment which took place at the Gazi University's musical rese arch institute it has been determined at the end of series of tests on thirty music majors that they have indeed progressed in their musical hearing abilities after having been educated at the university. Within the framework of test results it has been established that, except for the hearing impaired, that those who have been subject to musical training have in fact progressed and that no physical differences are present between those who have not been subject to musical training.
