The options of students about basic design i and ii lessons

In Fine Arts Departments of Education Faculties, Basic Design I and II Courses aretaught. In the contents of these courses, some of the elements like, light-shade, dot, line,direction, shape, measure, space colour, shade level, movement, take place with somebasic design principles like repetition, spaced repetition, appropriateness, contrast,theory, dominance, balance and unity to connect these elements with each other. Someproblems are seen on the effectiveness, and productivity of teaching Basic DesignCourses which improves creative and high-degree thinking abilities of the students, inorder to solve these problems about teaching Fine Arts. Firstly Basic Design I and IICourses should be run in a satisfactory way for every student. In this research study thestudent?s opinions have taken place in order to find an original and alternative methodthat increases the effectiveness and productivity of the teaching.The aim of this research is to determine the ideas of the students, who attends the artteaching program in Fine Arts Depertments of Education Faculties about the BasicDesign I And II Courses.The research has been materialized using the dates taken from the 60 students attendingFine Arts Education Department in Education Faculty of Anadolu University and 74students attending Gazi Education Faculty Fine Arts Education Department in 1 daystudy in 2005 - 2006 education period. The data of this scanning model research hasviibeen gathered in a survery which has been applied to the students attending ArtTeaching Program in Fine Arts Deperments of Education Faculties. n the survey thatconsists of 28 items, the ideas of the students about Basic Design I and II Courses havebeen evaluated. For the resolution of the research data ?SPSS 11,5 Windows? packetprogramme has been used. As Statistical Technique, t - test, One Way Anova has beenapplied.In the conclusion of the research, it has been understood that the principles and theelements taking place in Basic Design Education not only form the base of arteducation, but also they are unchangeable components used in every part of the art. Theimportance of the course has been determined. The need of some personal solutionapplications for the teaching of Basic Design Courses has been seen. It has beendesignated that the sexes of students or the high schools they left don?t have any effecton the teaching learning process. It has been established that in order to transfer an artunderstanding which has strong bases to the next generations, the principles and theelements of Basic Design Courses should be explained with an understandablelanguage and quality in the teaching learning process.
