Abstract (EN)
Exploring the Relationship Between Selected Biomotor Abilities and Proprioception Evaluations of Tennis Players: A Mix Method Research Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between biomotor properties and proprioceptive evaluations in tennis athletes between 10-14 years of age (addressing the quantitative approach) and its explanation (addressing the qualitative approach). Material and Method: The design foundation of this research was mixed research methods. In this perspective, convergent parallel desing was adopted based on this method. The study group consisted of 38 athletes active in the province of Malatya, who have been playing tennis for a minimum of 2 years. Statistical analysis of the study was performed with SPSS 25 program by Pearson correlation analysis. The significance level was determined as α = 0.05. Results: There was no significant relationship between balance and upper extremity abduction and upper extremity flexion scores of the participants. A significant negative correlation was found between the velocity 5m scores of the participants and the upper 60º measurements of the upper extremity (p<0.05). On the other hand, no significant relationship was found between the velocity 5m values and other angles. The visual reaction of the participants was found to be significant in the right and left hand and right upper extremity 60º right, and the auditory reaction was found to be significantly correlated with right and left upper 30º right and right upper extremity 60º right (p <0.05). Conclusion: In our study, no significant relation was found between balance and anaerobic power; There was, however, a significant relationship between speed, flexibility, reaction time, coordination, agility and proprioception. Key Words: Tennis, Proprioception, biomotor, mix method, a correlational approach
