Abstract (EN)

Aim: This study conducted to investigate some motoric and performance parameters of plyometric and resistance training in female tennis players. Material and Method: The population of the study consisted of 40 licensed female playing tennis in the province of Van, while the sample consisted of 36 licensed female participants aged between 11 and 13. Participants were randomly divided into three groups as control (n: 12), resistance training (n: 12) and plyometric training (n: 12) according to the results of cluster analysis. While the control group continued their routine tennis training, experimental groups were given plyometric and resistance training three days a week during 10 weeks. Strength, flexibility, 10m sprint, 20-meter shuttle run, agility, percentage of body fat, anaerobic and aerobic power, dynamic balance, forehand, backhand and service speeds and accuracy were measured before and after the training. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS package program. Results: The pre-test and post-test averages of grip strength, BMI, flexibility, 10m sprint, agility, 20m shuttle run, AOS ground hitting precision and service shot test, stroke speed, WAnT peak power and ML balance in the pliometric and resistance training groups were higher than control group. Conclusion: In order to improve performance parameters such as speed, agility, quickness, anaerobic power, forehand, backhand and service hit rates and stroke speeds in tennis, it may be recommended to add pliometric and resistance training to routine training programs.
