11 INVESTIGATION OF THE STRUCTURE OF SOME COMPOUNDS BY VIBRATIONAL SPECTROSCOPY (PH. D. Thesis) Kani ARICI GAZİ UNIVERSTY INSTITUE OF SECIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Haziran 2004 ABSTRACT In this study, M(piperazin)X2 [M=Cd, Zn, Hg; X=CI, Br, I] and M(8- hidroksikinolin)X2 rjVNHg; X=CI, Br], M(8-hidroksikinolin)2X2 [M=Zn, Fe, Co; X=CI, Br, I], Cd(8-hidroksikinolin)3 have been prepared for the first time. The infrared spectra of all these compounds have been recorded between 4000-400 cm"1 region. The vibrational frequencies of the ligand molecules were compared with those complexes. The frequency shifts between free ligand and coordinated ligand were investigated. The result of the C, H, N analyses or the complexes are given. The bond lengths, bond angles the vibrational IR spectra of the molecule 8- hidroksikinolin were calculated by programme of Gaussian98. The calculated parameters were compared with the experimental values.
