Socio-economic life in jurisdiction of Şiran according to tereke records (1886-1893)

Tereke records wich can be found seperately or in court records, has an ‎importance to enlightenment of social and cultural life. İn this context tereke records ‎include the debt and receivables of the deceased person. İn this work, 126 tereke ‎records evaluated wich covered the time span 1886 to 1893 that recorded in 8191 ‎numbered book.‎ İn the prolouge section, the aim, scope and method of the thesis wich arranged ‎according to the 8191 numbered court record, has been clarified . in the first chapter, ‎informations on court records, the formation of tereke records and the forming method ‎of them, the rights of the heirs according to İslamic Law and the history of Şiran ‎exhibited. The second chapter includes the datas on the assets of the deceased person, ‎their names, dwelling informations, place of death and date, their heirs, titles, ‎cognomens and marital status. İn the last and third chapter, the total assets of the ‎deceased, including chattel and premises examined and evaluated the social and ‎economic life of the Şiran.‎ Key Words: Court Records, Tereke Records, Şiran.‎
