Abstract (EN)

The Qur'an is a book sent by Allah to bring people out of darkness into the light. Studies have been carried out on many subjects and concepts in the Qur'an. One of the issues that needs to be studied is the issue of cleaning. When we look at the subject of cleanliness in the Qur'an, the treatment of the subject of cleanliness in the verses of Islam reveals how important the subject is. Cleanliness is a phenomenon that emerged with the creation of human beings. The basic word used in the meaning of cleaning in the Qur'an is "tahara". The uses of this word in the Qur'an include material, spiritual and legal types of cleanliness. Material cleanliness refers to the cleaning of things such as body, clothes, space, air, and water from all kinds of material pollution. Spiritual cleanliness is the purification of creed, heart, intention, and morality from all kinds of shirk and sins. Judgmental cleanliness, on the other hand, is the cleaning of wudu and ghusl required for performing certain worships (prayer, circumambulation, etc.). In the first part of our study, we analyzed the words that mean cleaning and expressed what kind of cleaning they indicate with examples from the verses. In the second part, we included the elements of cleaning. In the third part, which is the main part, we discussed the types of cleaning and the effects of cleaning on people and objects. What the Qur'an wants from us is to lead a pure life, both materially and spiritually.
