Abstract (EN)

With the rapid growth in the shipbuilding and repair sector in recent years, the number of people employed in this field has been increasing rapidly. As in every branch of work with a human factor, fires and explosions increase in parallel with the workforce in this sector. It is necessary to develop new policies in order to prevent possible fires that may occur in the shipyards, to prevent or minimize loss of life, injury and workforce loss. Risk analysis methods appear as one of these policies. It is possible to prevent fires and explosions by revealing what may happen in shipyards with risk analyzes to be made in advance. In terms of fire safety, it is seen that most of the fires are caused by human-induced factors. Events related to this factor can be minimized when it is known in advance what kind of events can be prevented with what precautions. In this study, first of all, basic information about fire safety was given, data about the shipyard sector in Turkey were shared, and a fire risk analysis of a private shipyard was made using Fine Kinney risk analysis method. In this way, possible risks are determined; It is aimed that the teams and decision makers who will respond to the fire take precautions by considering these risks in advance, and to prevent possible loss of life and property.
