Global warming, increasing pollution, scarcity of raw-material sources, landfill sites filled to capacity and increasing consumer sensitivity regarding environmental issues have all led companies to think on how to deal with asset returns in more profitable and environmental-friendly ways. Reverse logistics plans the movement, from the point of consumption to the point of origin, and disposal of the returned assets. This thesis focuses on the concept of reverse logistics and its applications, particularly remanufacturing, in Turkey and throughout the world.
