Molecular characterization of registered new peach varieties and some prunus species and varieties with SSR brands

Abstract (EN)

In the thesis study, 4 peach varieties (Küden, Tanrıver, Balcalı and İlayda) registered in 2017 as a result of the breeding studies carried out by Küden and Tanriver, some commercially important Prunus species and varieties in our country (Cherry: Sweet Heart, Staccato, Royal Tiago varieties, Nectarine: Venus, Stark Red Gold, Fantasia, Carolina, Extreme Candy and Extreme Red varieties, Plum: Angeleno, Black Diamond and Santa Rosa varieties, Almond: Ferraduel and Ferragnes varieties, Apricot: Mogador and Tyrinthe varieties, Peach: Rio-Oso-Gem Genetic relationships with, Flored, J.Hale, Üstün, Transvalia, Elegant Lady, Extreme 314, Extreme July, Monroe varieties) were investigated using 24 SSR markers. According to the results of 20 primers amplified among 24 SSR primers used in the study, the highest band number was obtained from 11 primers, BBCT017, BBCT004 and BBCT001 primers, the lowest band number 2 and MA040 primers (mean 6.3). Of the 20 primers used, all produced polymorphic 126 bands and the rate of polymorphism was 100% in all primers. When the PIC values of SSR primers are examined, it is determined that the highest value is in BBCT025 and BBCT005 primers with 0.95 and the lowest value is in BBCT018 primers with 0.49. When the dendrogram obtained based on SSR analysis was examined, Küden peach variety was in the same lower arm as Superior peach variety, Fantasia nectarine variety and Rio-Oso-Gem peach variety. Balcalı peach variety Extreme Candy nectarine was included in the same group with Extreme July and Transvalia peach varieties. It has been reported that the number of SSR primers used in order to determine the genetic relationships of İlayda, Tanrıver, Balcalı and Küden peach varieties registered among themselves and with other Prunus species and varieties more clearly should be increased.
