Adoptation of test of language development ?primary : Fourth edition (Told-p: 4) into Turkish item analysıs: Prelimanary findings

This study involves the pilot item analysis subtest of TOLD-P:4 in the adaptation process of Test of Language Development Primary:4 (TOLD-P:4) into Turkish.Research group consist of 103 typically developing children between the age of 4 ? 9. In this study the Turkish language adaptation of TOLD-P:4 was used as a data collection tool.The data collected in this study were analyzed by using SPSS 15.0 package programme. In descriptive statistics, methods of aritmatic mean and standart deviation were used. Item diffuculty and item discrimination were analiyzed by point biserial item total correlation coefficent and cronbach alpha coefficient. In the comparison of extreme groups scores independent samples of t- test was used.The results show that besides original items of adapted test, it includes items appropriate to Turkish Language and Turkish culture. In accordance with the results of item analysis the result of appropriate items can be used in the main test was elicited.
