The Ilkhanid State and its aftermath in Tavarih-i Sheikh Uveys

Works describing history are needed in order to shed light on the events of the past and to evaluate the events. The way of life, culture, administrative and military status of the communities that lived before us are learnt from the Works written in that period. Although there were studies in the field of historiography in the Iranian geography before the Ilkhanids, the main development in this field was in their period. Especially between 13-14 centuries, valuable works were written in Persian in terms of Near East history. Ahri also contributed to this development with his work "Târîh-ı Sheıkh Uwaıs" which he wrote in this period and of which we have translated a part [Mongols-Ilkhanids]. He dedicated his work to Sheikh Uveys, the sultan of the Jalayir State established in the region after the Ilkhanids. With this work, Ahri drew attention to Sultan Sheıkh Uwaıs and the events in and around Dasht-i Kipchak. In the translated part, the struggle for sovereignty in the Ilkhanids and the struggle for sovereignty among the dynasties and emirs in their lands during the period when they began to weaken are covered.
