As in all pre-capitalist societies, some principles have been mentioned in the Ottoman economic mentality. According to Mehmet Genç, these principles are provisionalism, traditionalism, and fiscalism. The Ottoman economy and Genç's principles have transformed over the nineteenth century. In this context, the change in the principles in question can be seen exactly in Bursa silk sector.
