Founding of the relationship between the individual and the power in Thomas Hobbes's understanding of commonwealth

The famous British philosopher Thomas Hobbes is among the theorists who laid the foundations of modern state thought. Hobbes like his contemporaries uses the concept of "social contract" which in his thought have two stagesthat is "the state of nature" and "civility". In his philosophy Hobbes describes the natural state in a grotesque picture as a war between all against all and only when individuals give up all their rights on behalf of the sovereign, this grotesque picture turns to civility with the establishing of the state. While trying to create a state in this model, Hobbes purports to use mechanical laws of nature. In this thesis, starting with the general philosophy of Thomas Hobbes, his new concepts of politics will be investigated while the relation between the individual and the power as an element of the modern state will be emphasized. On the other hand, in this study, the basic building blocks of Hobbes' political theory will be discussed and the reasons that prompted Hobbes to raise a theory of the state in this way will be examined in accordance with the specific features of this theory.
