Abstract (EN)
In this study, Thymus sibthorpii Benth. were identified, its morphology, anatomy and essential oil components were clarified, and its ethnobotanical usage areas were determined. In our morphological analysis, the definition of the species is given and its detailed characteristics are explained. General view of the plant, stem leaf, bract, bracteole, flower, fruit shapes are drawn. In our anatomical analysis, the root, flowering stem and internal structure of the leaves are explained. The schematic and anatomical shapes of the plant were photographed under the microscope. In our analysis of essential oil components, the oil yield percentage of the species was calculated and the main components in the essential oil were determined. In our ethnobotanical study, the ethnobotanical use of species belonging to the genus Thymus L. used as folk medicine in the Eskişehir region and for what purposes they were used, as well as the ethnobotanical use of species belonging to the genus Thymus L. in various regions of our country were determined. As a result of our study, the stem leaves of T. sibthorpii are long (7-13mm), and the calyx length is up to 3.5 mm. The plant is gynodioic. The glandular hairs are of the Lamiaceae type. Coralla purple, lilac in color. Leaves are lanceolate, subacute or obtuse. In the section taken from the flowering stem, the square structure of the stem was observed. The leaves of the species show a bifacial structure. The essential oil yield of T. sibthorpii was calculated as 0.62%, and the main components of essential oil were Geraniol (42.5%), Timol (21.5%), Geranil asetat (16.8%). In our ethnobotanical study, it was determined that it was used especially against flu and colds. Keywords: Lamiaceae, Thymus, Morphology, Anatomy, Ethnobotany.
