Abstract (EN)

VI ABSTRACT As a result of the developing technologies of our age, the amount of the data, information and knowledge flowing through the communication channels have been rised. Due to the knowledge (or information) overload it becomes harder for organizations to make proper business decisions. Therefore, organizations must manage and record their "commercial knowledge" which will support their commercial decisions in : a knowledge '?,tesexîiV'economy;:"','?hie*-';-krıtowledge portal as a knowledge technology is facilitating the education of the knowledge workers and the establishing process of the commercial knowledge systems. But, in developing countries the organizations especially the SMEs ( Small and Medium Scaled Enterprises) are encountering "financial and intellectual capital" deficiencies. In this respect, it is necessary for the SMEs to receive asistance from the chambers, foundations and federations which they belong. In the first part of the study; the concept of commercial knowledge management and the factors which can bring succees are studied. In the second part, the knowledge technologies directed to commercial knowledge management are examined. In the third part the knowledge portal and its architecture is studied through a proposed model. In the fourth part, the scope of the study is limited with the EGEV (The Foundation for the Development of the Aeagan Region). In this part, the commercial knowledge portal of EGEV is studied through the model which is formed around the theoretical knowledge obtained from literature investigation. At the end of the study, it is understood that there is no architectural element and core function which can support the commercial knowledge management. Applicable suggestions are proposed through the model. The study is important for the organizations, knowledge system architects, knowledge workers and academicians who desire to differentiate by innovating and gain competitive superiority.
