Abstract (EN)
In this study we purposed to evaluate the renal functions of type 1 DM patients with glomerular filtration rate measurements by single plasma sampling and gamma camera methods and to compare these two methods. When single plasma sampling method and gamma camera method (Gate's) showing the second hour distribution volume was compared in 36 patients included in this study with type 1 DM diagnosis within 3 months and 18 years, consistency between two methods was found 66.7%, kappa value 0.314 and p was 0.034. When more than 130 ml/min/m2 was evaluated as hyperfiltration in single plasma sampling method taken at 120. minute (corrected for body surface area) 75% of patients and in gamma camera method (Gate's) 56% of patients were found to have hyperfiltration. At this point, decrease in protein content of the diet is suggested. In gamma camera method, GFR was found to decrease with increase in renal depth measured with Tonnesen formula. There was negative correlation with GFR found by Gate's analysis normalized with body surface area (BSA). There's linear correlation between body surface area (BSA/m2) and lean body mass (LBM/kg). Negative correlation was found between GFR values measured with gamma camera method and single plasma sampling with insulin doses (U/kg). Pearson correlation coefficient found between GFR values detected in single plasma sampling method with insulin doses was -0.543 and p was 0.01. Pearson correlation coefficient between Gate's GFR values normalized with insulin doses was -0.461 and p was o.005. Two plasma samples were taken from each patient for correction. There was a relationship between GFR values of these plasma counts. (Rho= 0.833 and p= 0.0001) It means there was consistency between each of these two samples. As a result, we can have more and detailed information when we use two methods together if possible. In addition, renal functions should be evaluated routinely in type 1 DM patients before diabetic nephropathy occurs.
