Participants were seen cross-sectionally once; Sociodemographic Data Form, Montgomery and Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS), Night Eating Questionnaire, Eating Attitude Test were applied. In our study, it was observed that Type 2 DM patients diagnosed with BED and/or NES had an increased risk for eating disorders in overweight or obese subgroups. A significant relationship was found between BMI values and eating disorder diagnoses. It was observed that HbA1c levels and fasting blood glucose values were higher in the diagnosed group. Presence of hypertension, dyslipidemia and nephropathy did not differ according to diagnosis rates; It has been observed that the diagnosis rate of patients with retinopathy and neuropathy is higher. In the study, it was observed that the MADRS scores were higher in the diagnosed group, and the diagnosis rates were higher in patients with mild and moderate depressive disorder. In our study, it was determined that there was no significant relationship between the MADRS scores of the patients in the diagnosed group and the results of the Night Eating Questionnaire and Eating Attitude Test. In addition, it was observed that the Night Eating Questionnaire scores were higher in the diagnosed group, and the Eating Attitude Test scores were not at different levels in the diagnosed and non-diagnosed groups. Considering that Type 2 Diabetes patients are a risky group in terms of mental disorders and eating disorders, it is recommended to question psychopathology and eating behaviors in the routine follow-ups of patients.
