Abstract (EN)

Aim: This study was to compare the glucose levels in three different blood samples taken in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted between January and May 2018 on 100 patients with Type 2 DM hospitalize in adult internal clinics of Health Science University Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. Data were collected by "Personal Information Form" and "Data Registration Form" . Results: These was a difference between fasting capillary first blood drops and venous blood glucose measurement values (p<0.05). It was found that glucose in capillary blood was %5 higher than of venous blood and there was no difference between capillary first and second blood drops of unwashed right hand and capillary first and second drops of left hand washed with soap (p>0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that patients with Type 2 DM may use the first or second blood values of he unwashed or washed hand for fasting blood glucose values.
