An investigation of the effect of physical activity on the variables of metabolic control in TYPE 2 diabetic patients

This study was planned to investigate the effects of physical activity on metabolic control variables in patients with Type 2 diabetes. The study was conducted with the participation of 114 type 2 diabetic individuals from 72 women and 42 men who applied to the internal medicine clinic of Osmaniye State Hospital between 4 October 2016 - 4 January 2017. Questions about socio-demographic characteristics, health story, diabetic characteristics and physical activity (FA) of the patients were reached by questionnaire. Metabolic variable findings were obtained from the laboratory results of patients in the hospital system. The remaining fasting blood sugar (STD), satiety blood glucose and blood pressure (blood pressure) data were obtained in nurse observation records. The average age of the subjects participating in the study was 57,57 ± 11,53. It was also observed that the duration of diabetes was found to be 9,89 ± 6,22 years and the rate of living in province center was the first with 51,8%. Hypertension (HT) from chronic diseases is the most common disease with a rate of 47.4%. The total exercise level average was found to be 40.93 and the most preferred exercise was found to be mild exercise behavior with 25.99. There was a significant correlation between High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and total exercise behavior by 35.5% (p = 0,013 <0,05). Total level exercise behavior is increasing HDL. The systolic blood pressure levels of the patients were statistically significant according to the educational status variable (p = 0.026 <0.05). The mean total exercise behavior of the patients was found to be significant in terms of knowing the importance of physical activity in the treatment of diabetes (p = 0.036 <0.05). In order to make physical activity more effective on diabetes in the data obtained in this study, patients should be informed and assume a planning role in their activities.
