Determination of markers associated apoptosis and cell cycle (p16, p21, p53, bcl-2, bax, bcl-Xl and siklin D1) in thyroid papillary carcinoma, papillary microcarcinoma and lymph node metastasis of thyroid papillary carcinoma with tissue microarray assay

Aim: In this study; the role of genetic products associated apoptosis and cell cycle in the pathogenesis of thyroid papillary carcinoma (TPC) was studied. Also the second aim is to put to use tissue microarray (TMA) method.Materials and methods: Thirty-four cases of TPC, 22 cases of thyroid papillary microcarcinoma (TPMC), 12 cases of lymph node metastasis of thyroid papillary carcinoma (TPC-LNM) and 20 cases of adenomatous nodul (AN) were evaluated for p16, p21, p27, p53, bcl-2, bax, bcl-xL ve cyclin D1 immunostaining with TMA method.Results:The bcl-2 stainings of AN were significantly different from malignant groups and expression of bcl2 in TPC group were the highest comparing to all groups.p53 results were higher in the malignant groups comparing to benign ones. There was a highly positive correlation between p53 and bax staining ratios. According to results of the p16 stainings; TPC and TPMC groups values were significantly higher comparing AN group and TPC-LNM group showed significantly higher values comparing the primary tumour groups. p21 stainings were higher degree and strong in malignant groups than benign lesions. There was moderate correlation of staining values between p 16 and p21 (r=0,30). On the other hand there was highly positive correlation between p21 and cyclin D1 stainings (r=0.64).There was no sample that staining positive with p27 in the
