Abstract (EN)
The aim/object of this study is the production of TiB2 (TitaniumDiboride) by using mechanical alloying technique. For mechanicalalloying, studies were carried out by using Atritor and spex grinderswhich are the most common ones. TiO2 (Rutile, average particle size, 20μm), B2O3 (Boron Trioxide, average particle size, 600 μm) and Mg(Magnesium) were used as process input materials. In the studiescarried out by using atritor, experiments were done at differentstirring/mixing rates and different sample/ball ratios under argonatmosphere and as a result, TiB2 production wasn?t achieved. In thestudies carried out by using spex grinder, TiB2 (Average particle size,10 μm) was produced at 25th hour as result of the experiments carriedout at the same stirring rate and 1/1 sample/ball ratio under argonatmosphere.
