Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out on an irrigated flat land under ecological conditions of Erzurum as spring barley in summer 2015. In the research, yield and yield components and some phenological properties of alternative barley cultivar Tokak 157/37 and M5 generation of its 32 mutant lines obtained by gamma rays were compared. Sowing-maturity period in Tokak 157/37 was 90.3 days while it ranged from 83.7 to 94.0 days in mutant lines. There was a significant difference between Tokak cultivar and some of its mutant lines in terms of earliness. While plant height in Tokak 157/37 was 80.7 cm, it ranged from 68.0 to 87.4 cm in mutant lines and the differences between Tokak and many short mutant lines were found to be significant. While grain yield in Tokak 157/37 was 3099 kg/ha, the mutant lines with high yield had a range from 3102 to 3885 kg/ha and the difference between Tokak and its 10 mutant genotypes was significant. While 1000-seed weight in Tokak 157/37 was 67.8 g and crude protein rate was 11.1%, these two properties ranged from 46.4 to 68.6 g and from 9.11 to 12.5% in mutant lines and the difference between the standard cultivar and its many mutant lines were found to be significant. When these two properties and high grain yield were considered together, it was determined that 5 mutant genotypes were better than the standard cultivar for malt and 2 mutant genotypes were better for feed use. As a result, taking into account, considering high grain yield and other better properties, especially mutant genotypes with numbers 80, 56 and 65 can be used effectively for malt cultivars and feeding as spring barley cultivars in the summer conditions of our region.
